The Cornells

Where we've been, what we're doing, and photos of the lot!

ACHOO!!

This is one of the funniest things I've seen in a long time and most people reading this will have probably received it an e-mail from me, but I want to do a test of an embedded video in my blog, so what better candidate than this....

Bit of Practice for Halloween

Online Pumpkin Carving! - A lot easier on the wrists, less mess, and it doesn't stink after a couple of days. Give it a try.

We'll still be doing the real thing though....

They make it sound so easy!

It's got to be more complicated than this surely...?!

New Side Bar Feature.....................................>>

I'm going to provide links to some of the best YouTube's that I've been sent.
There now a list on the right hand side of this page....

100% Geek!

We're trialling BlackBerry's at work and I've had one for about 2 weeks now.
The technology itself is amazing; A device not much wider than a mobile phone which is constantly connected to your e-mail system and more. Real time access to my inbox and calendar as well as a web browser, address book, memo pad and yes before you ask it is also a mobile phone.
I've had to start switching it off on an evening because everytime it vibrates, eventhough it's a work related e-mail, I can't resist having a look!
As a none work related device I can totally see why these things are so popular with all the celebs. Absolute doddle to use and saves carrying a laptop around everywhere!
(Edit: Just noticed that this picture is the actual size of the device on my laptop running 1024x768 display).

Fascinating

It seems like every other e-mail that arrives these days is a YouTube video. Ok, that's not a bad thing but this one really caught my attention. Probably best if you watch it now before reading on; THE VIDEO.

At first I was dubious, thinking "yeah, yeah, it's obviously not the same person in all them locations", but then I visited the website listed at the end of the video; WhereTheHellIsMatt.com.

That'll teach me to be so scheptical! Seeing shots like those in the video in some stunning locations makes it's very easy to understand how people can get the 'travel bug', and never want to stop.

Happy Birthday OAP*

It was my Dad's 60th Birthday On Saturday (14th Oct), so my Mam booked a table at a local Italian Restaurant. Little did they know that his Brother and Sister were also gonna to make a surprise arrival from London and Spain!
It was hard work trying to keep it all quiet (only Jen and I knew), but worth it in the end. Their faces were a picture, - a complete mix of surprise and "how did you get here?!", haha.
A good night was had by all.

My Wife's Still A Teeny Bopper At Heart!

Jen and I had a week off work last week and amongst other things we ended up at a Gary Barlow book signing!!
We were sitting eating our Breakfast last Wednesday morning when it came on the regional news that he was doing a book signing to promote his new autobiography at Kingston Park. Jen, being the massive Take That fan that she is immediately got excited and insisted we go! A quick search of Google Groups and I found out that he was at Tesco.
We arrived to find the queue already out of the door but that wasn't going to deter Jen, or her work colleague Caroline who had now also joined her. After queing for about 50 mins their time in the spotlight came and they had their 20 seconds of fame with Gary! To be fair he seemed really down to earth and spent time chatting and posing for photos with every fan.
I couldn't believe how many middle aged women there were reduced to tears after their kiss! Considering EVERY person in the queue also bought a book to get signed and he was there for nearly 2 hours , they must have shifted a hell of a lot of books!! (I bought an extra one which was signed and is now doing VERY well on eBay!! ;-)

The Stuff of Legends

We went to St James' Park last Sunday (8th Oct) to see Sky One's 'The Match'.

In previous years we've just watched the final on TV but this year we got in early enough to get decent seats.

Although the Celebrities (NOT 'A' listers!), were more skilled this year, so were the Legends. After the first 15 mins it was a pretty dull one sided afair with the Legends having most of the possesion.

There was a good atmosphere and the ground was nearly at capacity, although I have to say the Mexican Wave's god a bit tedious after about the 20th time round!

If this show is repeated again next year I think they'll have to change something because people are getting bored with the predictable end result of a Legends victory.
